Today, Vodafone Idea is launching its new gaming service called Vi Games. Made in collaboration with Indian-based mobile gaming company Nazara Technologies, the service uses a dedicated app to offer its users a variety of games. The range includes well over a thousand Android and HTML5 games across as many as ten genres to fit every player’s taste.

Vi Games supports prepaid services as well as postpaid subscriptions. Apart from subscriber-only games, you can choose from its 200-something free titles, also representing a variety of genres. To be more specific about the game categories available, Vi Games classifies its titles into Adventure, Action, Arcade, Education, Fun, Casual, Puzzle, Sports, Strategy, and Racing. Don’t miss it if you are a Disney fan — you’ll find games such as Ducktales Remastered and Castle of Illusion that are based on the company’s movies and cartoons.

There are three basic subscription categories in Vi Games, namely Gold, Platinum, and Free. A gold pass means you can enjoy 30 titles at around 0,65 USD depending on whether you are a prepaid or postpaid user. The offer is valid for 30 days from the time you pay for it. Platinum games cost around 30 cents per download with a slight difference based on your subscription setting. Finally, there are free-to-download types that you can get via the Vi Games app.

There are plans to further enhance the service with e-sports as well as social games. Presently, though, the game range doesn’t include any popular titles that could win it a big audience at this initial stage, so we hope to see more soon.

Do you feel excited about Vi Games? Share in the comments whether you are going to try one of the many not-so-famous free games or even get a subscription (and which one if so).
